Over 300 parents, educators and other professionals representing 36 school districts from throughout Virginia joined together at the “From PossAbilities to Practical Applications” Education Conference on Saturday for a day of learning, networking and inspiration.
Our keynote speaker, Cheryl Jorgensen kicked off with a message of inclusion and provided three additional inclusion breakout sessions, our lunch speaker, Advocate David Egan touched the hearts and minds of the audience which led to a standing ovation. We are thankful to our additional speakers who shared so much information with our audience. All of the presentations are available at the following link (www.dsagr.com/home/conference).
Our 25 exhibitors that provide resources and services to so many families readily shared their information including PEATC who provided numerous IEP 1:1 consultations.
Our DSAGR self-advocates enjoyed introducing our speakers as session hosts and greeting the attendees.
Many thanks to our volunteers in the blue shirts who kept the conference running smoothly and professionally.
Thank you to the many sponsors that allow us to offer this conference at a low-cost to all attendees.
A special appreciation goes to the educators and professionals that are reaching and teaching the hearts and minds of our children! We know there are many of you making a difference every day and we were thrilled to recognize several great educators on Saturday including our Outstanding Educators – Cory Allen (Cool Spring Elementary, Hanover) and Amanda Cook (Glen Allen High School, Henrico) and Honorable Mention – Lauren McCray (Echo Lake Elementary, Henrico), Marty Moritz (Kaechele Elementary, Henrico) and Sarah Dunn (Gayton Elementary, Henrico).
We wanted to share some of the feedback we have already received:
“there was so much valuable and pertinent information available”
“the conference was extremely well-organized and professional.”
“one of the most inspirational and informative and professional conferences I have ever attended”
We hope to see you back next year!
