2013 Conference a HUGE SUCCESS!
The DSAGR inaugural conference "From Possabilities to Practical Applications"on February 9, 2013 was successful at enlightening and empowering more than 200 parents, self-advocates, and educational professionals who attended the event. Nearly 50% of attendees were from the educational and therapeutic professions. Conference attendees came from as far away as Charlottesville, Fredericksburg and Virginia Beach, and even from North Carolina.
Based upon evaluation results and post-conference compliments, the event was a huge success. A notable comment was from our keynote speaker, Michael Remus,
"I am amazed at what you accomplished and who you had at the conference, both in attendees and vendors. A job well done! I don't see this in many places, so you need to know you are the top of the list for doing great things."
We also received many accolades from our grant provider, Global Down Syndrome Foundation (GDSF) and the National Down Syndrome Congress (NDSC) on the success of the conference and the educational partnerships we were able to form both with attendees and sponsors.
